Uniquely Addu
The southernmost atoll in the Maldivian archipelago, Addu Atoll offers a formation of islands and reefs that is definitely unique. Unlike any other atoll in the Maldives, Addu has a lagoon accessible through only four channels, acting as a perfect natural anchorage. This provides high tolerance for seasonal changes, keeping waters calm and improving your holiday experience.
A Rich History
Addu Atoll was a British protectorate starting in 1887. With the outbreak of WWII in 1941, it became a crucial link in allied defenses against the Japanese. The British utilized the atoll's safe deep anchorage for their fleet, establishing a presence that has left a lasting historical footprint on the islands.
The Diving Experience
With 27 dive sites to choose from and four natural channels (Gan Kandu, Vilingili Kandu, Maa Kandu, and Kuda Kandu), the underwater world here is phenomenal.
Big Fish Encounters
The channels have currents diveable for all levels, where you are highly likely to encounter large marine life: Manta Rays, Sharks, Barracudas, Eagle Rays, Napoleon Wrasse, and large Green Sea Turtles.
Manta Cleaning Station
In Maa Kandu lies the famous cleaning station. No matter what season it is, Mantas are seen here with an incoming current ALL YEAR ROUND!
Dramatic Landscapes
As a lone atoll surrounded by the vast deep ocean, the reef drop-offs are spectacular. It feels like floating on top of a volcanic mountain, with great visibility throughout the year.
